The piston head is manufactured from TECAFORM engineering plastic, also known as POM, on a CNC machining center and features a very low weight of 8.7 g. The front face includes nine air ports that allow airflow during compression, expanding the sealing O-ring and improving the seal between the piston head and the cylinder. A locking nut runs through the center of the piston head, distributing clamping force over a larger area and preventing the screw from tearing out of the piston head body. An integrated axial ball bearing allows smooth spring rotation during compression, significantly extending spring lifespan. The NBU design is intended exclusively for use with an NBU cylinder.
