Two directional microphones capture and amplify normal sounds such as speech, commands, or ambient noise, while dangerous impulse noises (e.g., gunshots) are automatically limited to a safe level of 82 dB. The 2024 version features new silicone gel ear cushions for greater comfort during long-term wear, improved electronics, a more durable construction, and easier operation. The low-profile shape of the ear cups facilitates weapon handling, and compatibility with ARC rails allows for quick mounting on FAST helmets and similar models. A NATO Military Standard 7.0 connector in conjunction with a PTT module is used to connect to the radio.
